The Fight
Working families are struggling.
Caitlyn will fight for affordability and economic justice.
Making Colorado more affordable for working families.
Banning Algorithmic Rent Pricing
Corporate landlords are using AI to force rent prices up and renters out. Price collusion is illegal and algorithmic price fixing shouldn't be allowed in Colorado.
Outlawing Dynamic Pricing in Grocery Stores
Corporations are using your data to force you to pay higher prices; a family of four shouldn't have to pay more for eggs and milk just because a corporation wants to squeeze extra profit from them. We must outlaw dynamic pricing in grocery stores.
Preventing Private Equity From Buying Homes
Colorado's families are squeezed further out of the housing market every year. Private equity forces working class families out of housing while lowering quality and raising prices for everybody else. We cannot allow private equity to buy up our homes and neighborhoods.
Outlawing Junk Fees
"Online convenience fees," "maintenance fees," "account opening fees" and other junk fees are just another way to reduce price transparency and force you to pay more. It's ridiculous and you shouldn't have to pay a $30 fee for items like concert tickets.
Instituting a Living Wage
Everybody deserves to make a decent living and to afford rent, groceries and a better life for their children.
Funding the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program
The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program is chronically underfunded; families struggle to receive aid and services in a time when childcare costs are sky high. We must fund the CCCAP to provide relief for Colorado's families.
Lowering Colorado's dependence on federal funds and funding our social safety net.
Repealing State Budgetary Constraints
Colorado must be able to respond quickly to emergent situations. Right now, the federal government is cutting funding for Medicaid. Because of TABOR's constraints, we're taking healthcare away from Coloradan families and cutting funding for caretakers of individuals with disabilities.
Protecting Colorado from federal overreach.
Enshrining Warrants and Due Process Requirements
ICE is kidnapping our neighbors off the street, entering schools and religious institutions without warrants and deporting Coloradans without due process. We must enshrine our fourth amendment rights requiring judicial warrants to enter private spaces.
Bolstering State Resources Against ICE
Bolstering our local law enforcement, state patrol and National Guard; they work for Colorado, not Donald Trump, and we can prevent the collaboration of our local law enforcement with ICE in kidnapping our neighbors off the streets.
Regulating big tech and protecting privacy.
Strengthening Data Privacy and Rights
Corporations in Colorado are not currently required to let you delete your accounts or erase your data. That means they can hold onto and sell that data to other corporations that can use them to do things like charge you more at the grocery store. Our data should also be anonymized at a systems level. This will prevent agencies like ICE from seizing data from institutions such as hospitals, as they are right now.
Regulating Government and Corporate Mass Surveillance
We must restrict the government's ability to buy services that violate our 4th amendment rights and engage in mass surveillance. Private companies should not be able to surveil us at all times, including when we have disconnected or declined to subscribe to their services.
Kicking corporate money out of our politics.
Outlawing Corporate PAC and Dark Money in Elections
We must remove the influence of corporate entities in our elections and untraceable money and donors.
Investing in our schools and supporting students and educators.
Instituting Universal Pre-K
Preschool has been found to greatly benefit Colorado's kids and their academic preparedness for k-12. Every family should have access to preschool in Colorado.
